| Went to the range to zero in the 45 winchester I used Precisions 240 gr dead center with the suppied sabot The fit wasn't as tight as I like I was using Black horn 209 100 gr I got two shots on target at 25yds then the ole sssssssssssssssssssssssssssspufff on the next two trys I gave up came home cleaned the gun tried the 45 200 gr tc shockwave down the barrel with the suppied sabot I got a nice tight fit I'll give this a try with BH209 next time at the range If this don't work It will be back to the ole crud ring with 777 Anybody have any experience with Black Mag? Does it require a tight fit like BH209 For now its back to the 50 cal until I get more range time Season is open unitl Feb 12 in Jersey | |

| BM3 is supposed to be a really good powder. May also want to give Pyrodex a try. Corey also has a .45 Winchester Apex and that sucker shoots like a devil with 80gr pyrodex RS and a 275gr Powerbelt. I should know, i sold it to him | |

| In my Knight and Kodiak i have been using harvestors crush rib to shoot 200 gr shockwaves. It fits real loose. I thought I would have misfires, None so far when using Win209 primers. I had one psssssst with CCI209M which is supposed to be a hot primer. I think the primer sealing the back pressure is also a factor in misfires. | |

| bowbender this may sound weird but why not try sometype of wad under the sabot as an gas seal. could be something to play with. | |

| Your 2 shots at 50 yards in the same hole. Do you prime your Apex barrel with a 209 primer, or were those two shots in sucession from a "clean" barrel"? I'm very interested since the CVA Kodiak that I have is very similar to the Apex. | |
